Scholarship Information

Ralph J. Taurone Scholarship

We are now accepting scholarship applications for the 2025 – 2026 academic year. An exciting change this year is that we will be awarding up to FIVE scholarships to current Local 222 Teamster Members!

Teamsters Local Union 222 Scholarship Fund will award up to Twenty scholarships for a total of $40,000
to outstanding high school seniors and Teamsters Local 222 members continuing their education. Up to
FIVE scholarships will be given to Teamsters Members.

Scholarship Application

Send completed application and all other required documentation no later than March 31, 2025.

High School Senior applicants must:

  1. Be the dependent of an active and/or disabled Teamsters Local 222 member who is in “good
    standing” in Teamsters Local 222 as defined in Article X, Section 5 of the International Constitution.
  2. Be in their last year of high school and may not apply if they have already graduated from high
    school.
  3. Have a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
  4. Be among the top twenty applicants, ranked by GPA and SAT (or ACT) scores.
  5. Plan to attend an accredited college, university or trade school for the 2025/2026 school year.

Teamsters Member applicants must:

  1. Be an active and/or disabled Teamsters Local 222 member who is in “good standing” in Teamsters
    Local 222 as defined in Article X, Section 5 of the International Constitution.
  2. Be actively enrolled to attend or already attending a college, university or trade school for the
    2025/2026 school year.
  3. Submit a 500-word essay detailing your schooling and/or education objectives and how it will
    benefit you, your family and society.

James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund

Application process is now open for the sons, daughters, and financial dependents of Teamster members.
