The clock is ticking. HB267 is an unprecedented attack on the freedom of Utah’s public employees, including the firefighters, nurses, and teachers who keep our communities safe.
Supporters claim this bill will “increase participation,” but the truth is: it will leave workers powerless, driving down wages, slashing benefits, and worsening working conditions.
Without the freedom to collectively bargain, public workers will have zero leverage to fight for fair pay and protections—leading to mass turnover and gutting the essential services Utah families count on every day.
A vote could happen at any moment. We need your voice NOW to stop this harmful legislation. Send your letter today and demand that legislators vote NO on HB267.

The Teamsters Voluntary Income Protection Plus (VIP+) Plan is comprised of three separate insurance benefits designed to provide you and your families with crucial financial security if you cannot work due to injury, illness, scheduled surgery, or death. Benefit options include Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance with AD&D (Includes Spouse and Children coverage options). All benefit options are voluntary, meaning if you want to be covered you must act by enrolling in the benefit options you desire.

The timing of your enrollment directly affects when your coverage begins. So, the sooner you enroll, the sooner you and your family will be protected. To secure coverage for an effective date of April 1, 2024, make sure to enroll by March 25th.

We are calling for members to join our Political Action committee, Democratic Republican Independent Voter Education. As a member of the committee, you would help select candidates to endorse, advocate for legislation, and volunteer to educate our members. In order to participate in this committee, we ask that you:
Are a member of our Local Union in good standing.
Be a contributing member of DRIVE or be willing to join and contribute.
Be willing to help in the selection process for candidates we endorse.
Meet in-person or virtually. Be willing to volunteer time to our endorsed candidates.

WinCo employees join Teamsters Local 222!
On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, workers at WinCo Foods in South Salt Lake voted to join Teamsters Local 222. We are happy to welcome our new WinCo members. These workers stood up to their employer who fought against them every step of the way. “The solidarity among the workers was inspiring,” said Spencer Hogue, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 222. “They showed no fear when the company tried to crush their efforts.”
