The Teamsters Voluntary Income Protection Plus (VIP+) Plan

The Teamsters Voluntary Income Protection Plus (VIP+) Plan is comprised of three separate insurance benefits designed to provide you and your families with crucial financial security if you cannot work due to injury, illness, scheduled surgery, or death.  Benefit options include Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance with AD&D (Includes Spouse and Children coverage options).   All benefit options are voluntary, meaning if you want to be covered you must act by enrolling in the benefit options you desire.

 The timing of your enrollment directly affects when your coverage begins. So, the sooner you enroll, the sooner you and your family will be protected. To secure coverage for an effective date of April 1, 2024, make sure to enroll by March 25^th.

 What You Need to Know:

1. Benefits available for Full & Part-Time Members, spouses, and dependent children.
2. Guaranteed pre-approved coverage – no medical tests or questions – you cannot be declined.
3. Benefits are paid tax-free in addition to other benefits you may receive.
4. Premiums are collected securely via ACH, and you can cancel coverage anytime.
5. Loss of CDL, FAA certification, or other specialty license due to medical reasons is covered.
